Why We Created SmartHouse
We lead very hectic lives, as do many of you. We rush through our days and we multi-task, even when we wish we didn’t have to. So much of the high-tech world is downloaded into almost every waking moment, much of the time out of our control. We’re talking about the good, bad, ugly, and toxic. What Amy and I decided to do was take control over the ONE thing that will armor us to power through each waking moment of our day…… That one thing is our sleep! Whatever is waiting for us in the outside world will be there, but we wanted our home, our place where we rest, to be smarter. So, we created a mattress collection called SmartHouse. Laying on our mattress feels like a clean breeze on a simple Sunday morning. Made right here in the U.S. in the state of Michigan, our mattresses are filled with an all natural, organic latex- wool blend that is breathable, non-toxic, and so incredibly comfortable….the perfect place to spend a third of your life. We can’t wait for you to experience it for yourself.

Amy (Smart) Oosterhouse has been actively involved with environmental issues since she was 18yrs old, volunteering with Heal the Bay, and then serving on their board along with Environmental Media Association for the last 17 years. She started her acting career as a young teenager and is known for films like Varsity Blues, Just Friends, Rat Race, The Butterfly Effect, Crank, Starsky and Hutch, The Single Moms Club and TV shows like Felicity, Scrubs, Shameless and Justified. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and got certified as a Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She is very passionate about the environment and giving back when she can.
